Description
The JPL2412SB is a miniature single-adjusting jacking plate developed for smaller tiller type outboard clamp-on style engine designs. It is capable of vertically lifting outboard 3” with an offset of 5” from transom. The engine side is 2'' higher than the transom so you can get a total of 5'' of lift if you lift the unit's adjustment to Maximum height. If you want to stay the same height when you install, simply mount the unit a little lower on your transom. The unique ability to adjust vertically sets this unit apart from other style plates. The jack plate has a footprint of 12” Wide x 8” Length with a 1-1/4” thick clamping surface for all clamp on style outboard engines. With a weight of only 13 lbs the JPL2412SB is capable of handling 0 to 40 HP motors. If your engine is the standard bolt pattern, this unit will not work for your engine.

Please contact Vance Manufacturing for help if your engine is 40 HP & below and your engine has this standard bolt pattern listed below in inches:

  • Pre-drilled holes for 1/2'' stainless hardware
  • 12 7/8'' across the top two holes from center to center
  • 9 7/8'' across the bottom two holes from center to center
  • 8'' of vertical distance between the top holes and bottom mounting holes
 

The JPL2412SB is constructed of high-strength aircraft quality aluminum and non-rusting hardware consisting of stainless steel, brass, and bearing bronze. The mounting surface plate is made of space-age polymer material known as Starboard which is stronger than marine grade plywood yet will never deteriorate. Starboard will not absorb water therefore it is not subject to rupture from freezing.

Note that the jack plate sold with a 1 inch board thickness is 5 inches of setback total. If you choose the 2 or 3 inch thick boards it will change the overall setback to 6 and 7 inches respectively.


Not sure what size thickness clamping plate you need? Measure the minimum distance your outboard engine will clamp and then round up to the nearest inch so you have enough for clamping your engine onto your new Vance Mini Jack Plate.     Awesome product, 2nd jack plate I’ve purchased from Vance. Only complaint is I had to to take the jackplate apart to mount. If there was a template for mounting that would be awesome.

    Fantastic quality and workmanship... I debated for a while whether or not to make my own. The transom on my new boat was only 13 inches so even a short shaft motor was dragging too low. I had a couple ideas on rigging something to raise the motor but ended up giving Vance a chance and I'm glad I did. The end result did what it's supposed to do and as a bonus also looks good (which wouldn't have been the case with some of my alternatives).

    This jack plate is awesome! Works perfectly and was very easy to install. The only thing I would suggest is for them to include I mounting template so you don't have to take them plate apart to mark the holes. Great job guys!

    What great service! Ordered on Thursday and received on Saturday. Took about an hour & half to install on Jon Boat, every thing i needed in box. Raised short shaft motor on 15" transom 5 inches. Works so well, going to install a second on another boat.

    Manual adjustable jack plate

    Fast shipping only took two days . Delivered with the jack plate preassembled , after mounting it I got a better hole shot and better turning .. Initially I lost a few mph but after I set the plate I gained the mph back . I have a F20 Yamaha and I get a 10 second plane and a top speed of 25mph... great product and company. I will buy from Vance again when another jack plate is needed.

    I am an amatuer machinist, with a 1.5 hp mill, and a 2 hp lathe. There is no way I could have done the work evident in this part in my own shop. Very nice, very clean, very professional. Shipping was exactly as advertised. I would buy from Vance again.
